I became a caregiver because my son was very ill as a child. I was working full time, and was not always able to get him the care he needed. I eventually resigned my position, so that I could find a job with a more flexible schedule. I had always been interested in becoming a caregiver, I thought this would be great start to a career in Nursing. I have experience in nearly every facet of healthcare. I have volunteered as well as been employed in hospitals, direct care centers, home health care agencies, assisted living facilities, and skilled nursing centers. I am currently in my sophomore year at Oakland Community College majoring in Nursing. I enjoy being in the healthcare field, as there is so much to learn. I am proud to be able to now care for those that need help with activities of daily living, and meeting new people and being able to learn from them and form relationships. I have an easy going personality, and I enjoy making people laugh. I firmly believe that laughter is a form of medicine. I believe that my personality, as well as my skills training is what makes me a great care giver.
