What makes me a great caregiver is my compassionate personality I have for the residents I have taken care of and still continue to this day doing. I became a caregiver because I grew up with everyone, but a few of my family members with a medical degree. This really opened my eyes to see how rewarding pursuing a degree in the healthcare field could really be. What I like most about my job as a certified nursing assistant/personal care associate is how wonderful you feel after helping the resident with a task so easy or difficult that they couldn't accomplish themselves. My personal achievement that I am proud of is how well my patience has expanded throughout the years. For one of my CNA jobs I work in the memory care and this is what I would say has grown my patience tremendously. My other PCA job I work in the long term unit, but with this job their is still sometimes confusion and residents being combative with cares.
