I started my journey as a caregiver with my father who had cancer. This snowballed into taking care (at the same time) of my husband who was diagnosed with cancer also. They died a year apart from one other. My experience in caregiving for them is priceless. The lessons I learned are invaluable. After that I moved in with a elderly lady who needed assistance with cleaning, cooking, bathing, doctor appointments, ect. She died three years later. About that time my mother was needing more assistance. I handled her health issues (which were many), cleaning, cooking, entertainment. I cared for her through hospice at my home when the time came. I then for two years worked with a lady who had dementia and type one diabetes. I have a tremendous amount of empathy for senior citizens. They are wonderful people who need companionship and help doing their day to day chores. The older you get, the harder it gets for simple everyday actives, chores. I am compassionate, honest and have a great sense of humor. I would love to get to know you.

1. I became a caregiver about 5 years ago. 2. I like the flexibility and the need to care for someone. 3. One personal achievement I am proud of is that I moved across the country by myself from Minnesota five years ago and have dealt with all the stress/changes that involves. 4. I am a caring person. I believe that all people need to know that someone cares about them. I have a mercy motivated heart for people. I have worked with toddler/preschoolers for the past five years. I completed a course for Medical Transcription and had some training in Massage Therapy. One of the children I have been watching will be going to school, so I need to find other employment to supplement or replace the childcare I offer presently. I am certified and licensed by the state of Washington as a CNA.

Skills & Certifications: Home Health Care, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

I became a caregiver because I enjoy working with the elderly. I enjoy making them feel special. Making them laugh. Listen to their stories about their youth and family. I started as a live in five days a week for a couple, both in wheelchairs. After that I've taken care of three other people, two of whom passed away. I can give you references from those families. Also I have references from many friends that I've known for over twenty years. I've been a self employed live in for almost three years. After some time you get to feel like family. I've had a background check. Please let me know if you would like to meet. Thanks.
