I am a former retired RN. I have worked in medical surgical psychiatry home health long term care. I work now as a part time care giver and like interacting with people in a positive manner. I like to promote wellness and safety
I'm family oriented, compassionate, hardworking and caring caregiver. I give client centered care and treat each individual with respect, integrity, and value personal opinion and belief.
I enjoy seeing patients smile and their life stories gives me joy and lots of insight.
I like to engage them to focus on the happy moments whatever works for them even if it means being quiet as some clients wish to just do their own things while I run errands or do things around the house.
My experience as a caregiver has given me tremendous exposure to different clients and situations and I have learned so much over time and improved as a caregiver.
Key character: Patience
My personal goal is patient safety and care.
What makes me a great caregiver to me are I will go above and beyond for my residents a are whomever I work for. I am a perfectionist down to the last detail. What 1st attracted me to being a caregiver was my Grandmother she was an LPN up until her 2nd Surgery and was very proud of beinging an LPN. What solidified my beinging a caregiver are a CNA was my oldest son which put me in the role early on of becoming a caregiver He was had to have several surgeries do to a rare Gastrointestinal situation which caused him to be on An IV at all times, a feeding tube and a colostomy Bag for while but not anymore he is 16 now and will be celebrating 17 years of life in 6 month with none of the above. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is simply just the pure love of being able to help someone out period. Being able to see my 1st patient my oldest son see 16 and knowing it was partly my aiding in his care that got him to this milestone in his life is my personal achievement.

Hi there,
I have been working in the field since 2011. I have worked with clients who are medically fragile, development disabilities, dementia, and also children and adults with behavioral disabilities. I have worked in homes, group homes, isl, independent living facilities and also in a school setting.
I am a happy and funny person, upbeat, like to sing. I am sensitive and listen well. I can usually come up with good ideas on making something easier to do or more efficient. I'm gentle.
What attracted me to home care was all my family and friends telling me how good I would be at it. So tried it with a part time help with a lady with dementia/alzheimer's, her daughter saw how great I was with her mother and hired me full time. From there I learned so much. She would get confused sometimes angry even sad, we worked together to figure it out, her and I . That's where compassion and patience comes in.
I Started taking care of a child w/cerebral palsy part time as well.
What I enjoy about being a caregiver is knowing I'm helping someone's life to be a little easier, keeping them comfortable and hopefully a little laughter and a smile is really great. Knowing I have made a difference means a great deal.
I have had many great achievements in this line of work. One of them was when a client was starting to have a stroke, I caught it quickly and my training from several weeks back with the Red Cross on Abuse and Neglect, First Aid and CPR came rushing back and I just went into action. Once the ambulance was there and one of the other employees told them all I did, They said I did everything right! I did a good job! Wow,that felt great and was thankful I somehow remembered all I had learned. I didn't even realize what I had done till I heard them saying it, but most of all, she(my client) was ok.
I have worked with 6-7 different senior's and 3 young adults within last ten years.
I have gone through drug screening and willing to again for any client your cost.
That sums up some of me,any questions let me know.
