I became a caregiver in high school to get into the medical field. I have always had a passion for helping people and helping them do things they cannot do for themselves. I strive to make people feel better about themselves and feel comfortable enough around me to let me help them with anything I can. A personal achievement I feel I have achieved is just being able to do things confidently. I have been able to gain enough experience and work with enough different personalities to know how to approach a persona and build a good relationship with people. I love what I do and It means more to me than anyone will ever know. This is my current employer. This is where I have gained a great amount of experience in this field so far. This company is an agency, so I basically move from facility to facility. I work where my care as a CNA is needed. I move from Nursing homes, AL facilities, MC facilities, hospitals, rehabilitation, etc. I have lots of experience with hoyers, sit to stands, colostomy bags, catheters, and more. The hardest part of this job is moving from facility to facility and not being able to stay with residents and build that trustworthy relationship overtime. I miss that most but I am able to adjust to different residents and their needs as they need it.

I had the opportunity to work in Assisted Living in this facility as well as the Memory Care unit occasionally. This was nice because I was able to gain more experience in another unit I wasn't familiar with. I provided basic needs and put in a lot of hours at this facility as I built great relationships with these residents and families. I was able to spend more time with the residents here on activities and even finding extra time to sit down in their room and talk to them more which was really nice.

I worked in this Assisted Living facility, providing basic care needs to residents and tending to their needs. This was my first job as a CNA and it was a great experience. This is the first place where I learned how important it was to build great trustworthy relationships with the residents and their families. This is where I learned that work was an escape for me. Being around people that I could give care for and spend time with them is my favorite. I was able to build strong relationships with these people to where I could help them and they were comfortable, that was was my goal.
