Hello, my name is Marlena and I have been a caregiver since 2015. I am always helping others so that is a reason to my liking to work as a caregiver. What I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the ability to help others and spread joy. The personal achievement that I am proud of is that I recently was part of a commitee for the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer walk. All of the meetings and walk throughs, the event turned out to be wonderfully fun.

My personality traits or expertise that help me be a great caregiver would include my genuine love for people and the fact that I have over 19 years of experience in the healthcare field. I am a certified nurse assistant and certified medication technician in the state of Missouri and have maintained my certifications for about 19 years. I also have several credits earned at Chamberlain Nursing School of Saint Louis. I have a Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Masters Degree in Business Administration with the Emphasis of Leadership Management. I am currently a caregiver for my disabled neighbor and have been her caregiver for about 2 years. I am also a caregiver for my parents. My father is a cancer patient with a heart condition. My mother needs help as well. She is long covid survivor and has issues stemming from Covid-19. The need is all around me. I thoroughly enjoy helping people who need healthcare assistance. I have worked in long term care facilities/settings, not only caring for the residents needs, but making sure that they are taking their medications with the correct dosage and scheduled times. I administer their medication where I have to count for narcotics at the beginning and end of my shifts. I have self-gratification each time that I am of aid to my patients and I feel very satisfied when I give care as well as having a smile on my face to cheer up my patients.
