I work for a north ma regional center as a direct care worker.

The reason why I chose this job is cause I love working with people and helping people with anything. I like to grow a bond with them and enjoy quality time with them. Making sure they have what they need. I'm very easy to get a long with. My goals is to assure that they're taken care of. I enjoy helping others when needed. To be honest I'm scared of dogs but I love dogs. Whatever that is extra I don't mind doing cause it's my job to make sure they are comfortable and safe when I'm around.

Taking the best care of those who can't take care of themselves is a joy for me. I love conversing with others and learning about them. I'm a great listener, learner and apply what I have learned quickly. I am very easy to get along with. Making sure tasks I'm giving are completed correctly and on time is very important to me.

My name is Inna Golden. I've been doing PCA work for about 4 years now I got certified May, 2022. I plan to go back to school for my LPN the year of 2023 and what makes me happy the most about doing this type of work is me feeling like that it's something that I was called to do. Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. But I'd love to tell you a story, which really helped me make this decision. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was left alone. Plus, her arthritis was starting to worsen, and she began having more and more trouble preparing her meals, bathing, and getting her groceries. So we found her a caregiver and she was absolutely amazing! She stayed with my grandma for longer hours than expected, while telling stories about growing up in Europe. That was very soothing for my grandma, and that caregiver inspired me to join this field. I really try to get to know my patients. I ask a lot of questions. I ask about their feelings and if they're dealing with weighty emotions, like sadness, anger, or anxiety. I listen as much as possible and tell them they can talk to me about anything without worry. I try building trust, and it's a gradual process, but I do my best to get there.

I'm a great caregiver and has been for 16yrs. I enjoy taking care of people. I love being a great helper and caretaker. I have worked long term care and home healthcare and hospital setting.
