I plan to go back to school for my LPN the year of 2023 and what makes me happy the most about doing this type of work is me feeling like that it's something that I was called to do. Honestly, I've always had a giving personality and I like helping people. But I'd love to tell you a story, which really helped me make this decision. When my grandfather passed away, my grandmother was left alone. Plus, her arthritis was starting to worsen, and she began having more and more trouble preparing her meals, bathing, and getting her groceries. So we found her a caregiver and she was absolutely amazing! She stayed with my grandma for longer hours than expected, while telling stories about growing up in Europe. That was very soothing for my grandma, and that caregiver inspired me to join this field. I really try to get to know my patients. I ask a lot of questions. I ask about their feelings and if they're dealing with weighty emotions, like sadness, anger, or anxiety. I listen as much as possible and tell them they can talk to me about anything without worry. I try building trust, and it's a gradual process, but I do my best to get there.

I'm a great caregiver and has been for 16yrs. I enjoy taking care of people. I love being a great helper and caretaker. I have worked long term care and home healthcare and hospital setting.

As of now, I'm employed with Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services part time. I love helping elderly people or people that can't do day to day task on their own.

However, I have grown tired of fighting with Medicare and have chosen to focus on caregiving rather than my previous career in therapy so that i can completelyfocus all my attention on my patient. I enjoy helping people, because I never know where I my need someone to help me. I am a very outgoing person so I can relate to almost anyone. My personal achievement is when I realized that I had a special gift of helping others. I can often out myself in the next person shoes and fully understand their feelings.
