My name is Jenniffer I relocated to Mississippi In 2008. I have four beautiful children that range in ages from 18 to 4 years old. I have always work in the health field since I was about 18 years old. One reason I became a caregiver is My mother became ill in (1999) she needed a live in, I felt that it was my job to be the one that she could count on. My mother is still in my home and doing well. I feel just because the elderly get sick or needs a little help does not mean that they become a problem. They still need love, companionship, help, and the trust that they have given to others threw out there years. I enjoy being a caregiver only because I would never want anyone to not have someone to be there for them. I have learned a lot from the elderly that I have taken care of. Even if they are mean, stubborn, and set in there ways. I have been a caregiver for a long time one personal achievement that I can think of, and defiantly proud of is getting my General Education Diploma at the age of 37. I was told that when I went to sign up for college classes to further my education that I didn't have a High School Diploma. I was a half credit short in P.E. . I was embarrassed and hurt thinking this whole time I had a High School Diploma. So when I found out I sign up for GED classes and Passed! I hope to become Register Nurse. A elderly woman I took care of for many years thought me how to Leaned to Humbling myself and never give up on my dreams. She has passed away since.
