I got started in healthcare at 15 years old. I started by taking care of my mom, as she had mini strokes & had to go to therapy. I would go to therapy with my mom & then help her with therapy at home, then I helped my dad get his stuff ready to go to work every morning. After my daddy left for work I'd take a nap just before going to school. I enjoy being around elderly people, having conversations, helping them with daily tasks & being a companion to them. I've been to school to be a CNA, a Certified Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Emergency Medical Technician & hopefuly one day finish achieving my RN degree. I'm also a mom of four grown children & I have nine grandbabies. I enjoy taking care of people of all ages. I specialize in caring for people with disabilities & Alzheimers/Dementia disease. I have been a CNA for almost 15 yrs. I have experience in every area. I've worked in hospitals, long term care facilities, home health, hospice and I've worked with every age. I love taking care of people more than anything. It is truly my calling and I'm extremely compassionate about it. I am honest, trustworthy, and kind. I always try to make my patients smile.

I'm a great caregiver cause I care about to well being of my residents and make sure they are well too care of and am there when they need someone to talk to .I've grow up around nurses and doctors and specifically my momshes a lpn and she worked at nursing home and assisted living places and I would volunteer during the summer and the outings and then I became a housekeeper at my moms job and then became a caregiver

I love what I do to help others that need me. I have a passion to be there in time of need to help others. I am able to help thru daily tasks that needed. I am proud to know I was able to help and be there for all care. Also that I did a good deed. To know that they was satisfied and comfortable.

This is what matters when becoming a caregiver to your patient. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver, will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for. What attracted me to be the caregiver I am today. Well, when I was 13 years old, my Father was diagnosed with cancer. So at that age I would watch the hospice nurses take good care of my father until the day I asked, if I could learn what they knew so when the nurses are not there, I could assist. I love being a caregiver to help other people who really need it. I want to be able to care for them the way I want to be cared for if I should need the care some day. I love helping others in need. My personal achievement is on a day to day bases. CNAs are responsible for the wellbeing of patients from the time they are admitted to the time when they are discharged.

Hmm...about me? When I took the class to become certified, I had no idea the impact it would have on my life, much less, how it would impact the person I am today. I think being personable and empathetic are important qualities that have been enhanced throughout the last nine years. I never put much though into becoming a caregiver, it just kind of came about, but now I feel like its a way for me to step away from "self." Whatever may be going on in life gets left at the door or at the time clock, then I step into another "self." Its hard to describe the way this type of work makes me feel which, in turn, has a positive affect on my job performance and I like to think people can see this shine through in my personality. I can honestly say that I'm happy to have gained the friendships, knowledge and experience I wouldn't have otherwise had a chance to gain. My most recent personal achievement is being enrolled to start on online classes to take the next step in the healthcare feild.

I enjoy being a caregiver. I had my CNA but let it expire when moved from Arkansas. I enjoy being with others and helping where needed .

I became a caregiver in 2017. A gentleman was given my name by a mutual friend. He was told I was compassionate, honest and would be perfect to fill the position he needed for taking care of his wife. I went to meet her, and fell in love with caring for her. She was blind, bedbound and suffered the end stages of dementia. She was non-verbal, and had not communicated in several years. It didn't take long, but she began talking to me! I quickly learned to use a hoyer, and to do daily range of motion exercises, along with physical therapy. After my first job, I was determined to help more people. I had gotten so much out of the progress I seen my patients were making. I have so much patence, and love to help others as if they were my own family. Since I started I've had the opportunity to use a ceiling hoyer, care for a Foley catheter. As well.as using other catheters including condom catheters.
