I got started in healthcare at 15 years old. I started by taking care of my mom, as she had mini strokes & had to go to therapy. I would go to therapy with my mom & then help her with therapy at home, then I helped my dad get his stuff ready to go to work every morning. After my daddy left for work I'd take a nap just before going to school. I enjoy being around elderly people, having conversations, helping them with daily tasks & being a companion to them. I've been to school to be a CNA, a Certified Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Tech, Emergency Medical Technician & hopefuly one day finish achieving my RN degree. I'm also a mom of four grown children & I have nine grandbabies. I enjoy taking care of people of all ages. I specialize in caring for people with disabilities & Alzheimers/Dementia disease. This is what matters when becoming a caregiver to your patient. Compassion. When someone has compassion for another they have an understanding of what the person is going through. Attentiveness. It is important when providing home care that the caregiver is attentive to the needs and changes that are taking place. By being attentive, the caregiver, will notice when there are emotional or physical changes in the person he or she is caring for. Dependability. Those who need home care don't usually just need it sporadically. Rather it is on a regular basis, so it is imperative that a caregiver be dependable and show up to provide the care that the person needs and is counting on. Trustworthiness. Caregivers are often in a position that will allow them to have access to the belongings of the person they are caring for. It is crucial that the caregiver be someone who is trustworthy and will not breach that trust by taking advantage of the person her or she is caring for. What attracted me to be the caregiver I am today. Well, when I was 13 years old, my Father was diagnosed with cancer. So at that age I would watch the hospice nurses take good care of my father until the day I asked, if I could learn what they knew so when the nurses are not there, I could assist. I love being a caregiver to help other people who really need it. I want to be able to care for them the way I want to be cared for if I should need the care some day. I love helping others in need. My personal achievement is on a day to day bases. CNAs are responsible for the wellbeing of patients from the time they are admitted to the time when they are discharged.

My Mom had Cancer and my compassion come from my heart thats what make me a good care giver experiencing a love one going through hard times.what made me wanna be a caregiver is my mom.i enjoy helping people who need help and even those who dont want it. my personal achievement is seeing someone that i have helped the smile or relief that it bring to people lives make me work harder than i do and it aslo put a smile on my face.
