I become a caregiver taking care of my father his last 3 years, to know better about his illness I read books, interview friends who work on that field ( dementia), after my fathers passed , I descide to learn more about mental illness. And find a job as a profesional caregiver. Took courses and read books about Dementia and Alzheimer's illness. Then I knew that we need to be prepared and accept changes in life. I learned that elderly needs more patience, compassion and respect . Is not easy for family members like I did experience to accept or understand this changes. I fell in love taking care of elder people. And everyday I want to be better in that field and give the best of me with love and compassion.

I like helping elderly. Its a fun job, challenging but rewarding. I have working in this field for many years and I am proud that so many lives had been changed, and lifted up through me. A life of 90 years old man who could not take care himself and the family were so busy, and he was able to survive for seven years. I have been caregiver and CNA for more than ten years. I have worked in nursing homes, hospital and private duty in California, then I moved to Colorado for better future, Unfortunately my family won't move there because of cold weather. So at this time I'm back to California to be together with my family and looking for a job here.

I like to be useful to others that I serve. I enjoy assisting all different types of people, I am very patient and I love what I do. I am also trustworthy and reliable.

I've been a caregiver for 35 yrs. I started in this field when I was just 17. I love what I do. I come from a medical family and decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a doctor or nurse. I specialize in geriatric dementia and Alzheimers care. Every client needs to know they're truly cared for on every level with love, patience, and kindness. I enjoy learning from them ... they often have amazing histories, stories and lessons to share.I'm often with my clients for the duration of their lives.

I enjoy helping others. I am friendly yet professional, caring, honest, dependable, I have integrity. I believe that everyone deserves dignity in their care and I believe that family caregivers also need breaks. It doesn't make one weak to ask for help it makes you stronger. It is an opportunity to recharge your batteries. Caring for children with special needs can also be very taxing on the family unit and they need that moment to recharge. That is why I offer respite care. I was a CNA for 3 years and have been a respite provider/caregiver for nearly 4 years and I am now in my second semester of the Nursing program at VVC.
