My name is Juanita P. Rodriguez , I have been a caregiver for 15 + yrs . Mostly for family members like my grandmother, my father, two brothers my mother and an auntie. My attraction for caregiving came about when I started taking care of my Father who had diabetes and had other health issues I come from a large family of seven siblings me being the youngest a care facility was never an option as my mother and I took the role of being his caregivers until he passed away in 1997. Soon after my grandmother who had dementia and heart problems needed homecare as well. That's just the beginning of my start to caregiving. I love helping people and being a part of making things as easy and comfortable as possible. I am proud of how I have grown in being a caregiver learning how each person is different and special in their own way. In 2010 I had the privileged to work with an army veteran who was very kind and caring but very frail. I enjoyed being a part of his last days we became really good friends as he didn't have family. My traits as a caregiver are helping house cleaning, meal prep, bathing/ dressing, companionship and occasional errands . One thing to keep in mind is I can't do weekends .
