I have always enjoyed waiting on, taking care of, and the company of the elderly, I also like lightening the load of the family. The things that I like about being a Caregiver, is the personal satisfaction I get out of being where I'm needed and receiving so many letters of appreciation from so many families, and office staff. I am a very loving 61-year-old CNA/Home Health Aide (10 years), Caregiver, Companion/Sitter, with 26 years of Home Healthcare under my belt. I am empathetic, full of compassion, kind and have (so I've been told), possess a wonderful sense of humor. I enjoy being helpful and have loads of energy, which helps a lot, considering I love to stay busy. I am computer savvy, and can perform certain duties online. My client's and their families become very comfortable around and with me. They soon realize that I enjoy challenges, and I have a great working relationship with other members of the medical team. I am a great cook, and have so much experience in the home healthcare field, that I can handle pretty much anything that comes my way. All in all, myself, and others that matter, believe that this is my niche in life; and I am excellent at it. Proficient in Alzheimer's/Dementia, Cancer, Hospice, and Incontinent Care. I specialize in couples. General Housekeeping and laundry provided, depending on the case.

Skills & Certifications: Home Health Care, Vision and Eye Disorders, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Arthritis, Depression, Hearing Disorders, Cancer Recovery, Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Skin Disorders, Cardiovascular Disorders, Stroke, Diabetes, Gastrointestinal Disorders, Hospice Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, Post Surgery Recovery, Respiratory Disorders

I have a bachelors in medical sciences & presently obtaining my masters in health administration. I've worked as a caregiver for a year. For me, It's not much about the money, but about the joy I get from caring for the elderly. It's my dream to manage nursing homes & hospices and I believe that my experience as a care giver will help me better understand the true feelings and needs of these population of people. My 13 years experience in caring and assisting people who can't do for themselves. My characters (trustworthy, reliable, responsible, accountable, caring) shows me with so much compassion for the people I serve makes me a great Caregiver/Personal Assistant/CNA. I became a CNA/Caregiver/Personal Assistant because I enjoy taking care of people who have lost their ability to handle their basic needs. I like being a CNA/Cargiver/Personal Assistant cause I take comfort in knowing that I make people comfortable as possible, put a smile on their face, and help improve the quality of life for them during what can be a trying time in their life. One personal achievement I am proud of is being the main role, for 6 years, in helping a man regains a positive outlook on/for his life after suffering a Stroke that left him with paralized on his right side, wheel chair bound, and told that he would never walk again. I committed myself to be his leaning tower(Personal Assistant/Caregiver). After 5 years of going to Physical and Occupational therapies 3 times a week with him, learning the exercises, then assisting him with these exercises in his home.he is no longer wheel chair bound, he walks 2 miles a day , he drive his vehicle, he's continues exercising in a gym, and he's no longer depress about his ability but encourage others living with a disability.
