Hello! After a career in many different roles, I am now a nursing student! I have loved being a care giver for others, helping them while learning how to become a nurse.

I became a caregiver because I was able to take care of my sick mother home for 4 years until it turned into Hospice care at my home. I am trustworthy with training, education, and guidance with caring for families , so they will receive emotional support and are comfortable in their environment. My compassion for patients allows me to have understanding and be attentive to their needs. I will follow set rules be punctual, and show good time - management. Quality of care and safety for patients are very important to me.

I am 22 years old. I graduated from North Carolina Central University with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. I found a passion for working with the elderly when I took on the role I have now with RSI. Not just caring for them, but I loved seeing me make an impact on their lives. I love that they wait for me at the door when I'm coming into work & how much they love to be around me. I am young and I love the fact that I can help the older generation with my bright personality and attitude. I am really proud of teaching one of my nonverbal residents sign language. He now can sign a couple phrases to communicate with me.

I became a caregiver to help others, as I have always possessed an innate desire to do just that. Since elders can't always communicate themselves, I felt a compelling need to do this for them in the best way I knew possible. Naturally, I enjoy that rewarding feeling you get from being a Caregiver but it goes deeper than that. Addressing a problem (emotionally or clinically ) by noticing that something just isn't right or \\\\\\"off' and rectifying it is even more gratifying! I am proud that I was able to attend a private school in NC, and become a Medical Assistant. It definitely expanded my horizons, and \\\\\\"opened new doors\\\\\\" for me. With my diploma, I gained valuable experience in physician offices. For several years, I enjoyed working as a Medical Assistant but missed the camaraderie of conversing and interacting with the senior population. Eventually, I changed roles, and returned to home healthcare.
