Hello there!!! My name is Verdene Dismuke and I am the caregiver for YOU!!!! I became a caregiver over 10 years ago because I have a genuine love and desire to care for those who can't help themselves. While my client base has mostly been comprised of the senior community, I also have cared for infants, children and those with special needs as well. What I enjoy about being a caregiver most are the smiles, hugs, and gently held hands I get from those I care for. Often times I am their primary contact during the day...the only friendly face, smile or conversation they receive. Being able to make that type of impact on someone's day is a powerful testament to human interaction and what a simple act of kindness can mean to someone. There's nothing like being the reason behind someone's joy. My most memorable personal achievement was taking a woman who hadn't been outside in a year outside to feel the sun on her face, the wind on her skin, and watch the season change. What that meant to her and the fact that I helped her accomplish what she thought was an unattainable goal has never been forgotten. I still smile fondly thinking about that first time. I am an honest genuine loving caregiver that offers more than the typical person. I believe in dignity at all times, keeping your loved one clean neat and tidy always, I do hair nails, etc and I am willing to go the extra mile for their comfort. I am friendly and outgoing, prompt, responsible, trustworthy and reliable.

I became a caregiver because of my mom. She became a cna cma while I was in high school. I did alot of volunteer work for the facility she was working for, it just felt right. I wouldn't say I like anything about being a caregiver, I LOVE every aspect of being a caregiver. I give my all and my heart, any of the residents I cared for before would say I care "too much." A personal achievement I am proud of, becomeing a mom. It was something I was always afraid of, I never thought I would be a good mom. I thought "man if I ever have kids I'll be horrible at it." Turns out I did and am doing a pretty good job. The one thing I have always dreaded was "tell me/us something about yourself." I feel like such a self absorbed individual when asked this. So I will start with I am a mom, I have 300 arms and 600 hands, and amazingly can practically be in two places at the same time. That wasn't meant to be literal. I have a huge heart and I love to take care of people. Knowing that they in a way need me, and knowing that their simple thank you and smile is all I need to feel complete as if I did something right, it is a pat on the back for me. I want to be a nurse in due time. I have done CNA CMA work for a little over three years. Stopped for a short time to do some pre recs for nursing school, it is time for me to get back to where my heart is, taking care of those who can't do everything for themselves anymore. I love to smile. I love to laugh. I love to make others
