I've been an LNA for four years now and I am working towards getting my RN at Great Bay as well. I have a five year old daughter and I am looking for first or third shift during the week so I can still see her when she gets out of school. On the weekends, I am able to work anytime

I became a caregiver when I realized how much I loved assisting and helping elderly, as I do my own grandparents. I started out first with a private patient, a retired Firefighter, whom I acquired thru a family friend and became his full time CG! Once my job was longer needed I knew I had to get certified and back into the field, and that's where I found my first agency to work for. My greatest personality trait would have to be my smile and willingness to be an open ear to my patients. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of gaining along with being a certified HHA is graduating with my associates degree. I have to say what I enjoy the most being in the field is knowing I made a difference in my patient's or their families lives.

I first started caregiving when I was 17. My first job was for glorias helping hands. At first i wasnt sure about how i felt about the type of work. I didnt have much experience as to what i was doing. I took some classes and got my rcs1 and crma first. Rcs1 is a residential care specialist and a CRMA is a certified residential medical assistant. As i learned more and worked more I realized that is was my passion to help others who may need some assistance in things they can no longer do. Honestly u really do have to have a passion for this type of work because u never know what could happen or what situation u may end up in. And some of the disabilities, and some health issues can be challenging. Ive been very lucky to continue and have worked and learned various disabilities, as well as illnesses. Today i have my rcs1, pss,cna, and also insulin certified, cpr certified, and first aid certified. I love knowing that I'm making a difference and im helping and am there for someone who needs some support and help in their life.
