Hello, my name is caryssa ! I've been a CNA for 7 years and trained for my entire senior year of high school. I worked a little in a hospital so I have some insight on taking care of people in that kind of setting I'm very familiar with residents who are full term in a nursing home, who have dementia, and also residents on a rehab unit recovering from falls at home causing them to break their hips, neck, back and more and trying to my best ability to make them comfortable. I've taken care of people who are actively dying and have terminal illnesses I guess it's safe to say it's what I know best is to take care of people. What I love the most about taking care of people is getting close to them like they're my own family I love my residents a lot. What drew me to being a care giver was the fact that I could help someone or even make their day better just by making them feel safe and well taken care of and in all my years as a care giver I've grown very attached to my residents I love them a lot

I earned my CNA when I was 18 and my passion for helping others grew. I learned hands on and specialized in Alzheimer's care and dementia; furthered my nursing education to become a clinical medical technician and worked in a hospital setting, taking great pride and compassion for families and their loved ones. With that being said, a personal experience changed my direction, which led me to want to help families with their loved ones in the care and comfort of their own home. When your loved one falls ill it can become emotionally and physically draining, which is why I take great care in helping families and their loved ones.

What drew me to this field initially was when my grandmother had a heart attack. There are some good hospitals in florida (where I lived at the time) but majority are poor quality. Unfortunately, my grandmother ended up in one that wasn't great quality. At 16 years old, I stayed in her hospital room, sleeping on the floor, to ensure that if she needed to toilet, I could help her. I helped bathe her, and spent time with her. I did tasks that a CNA should have been performing, but it was the best thing for her because it gave her a sense of dignity in a moment of her life that was hard enough as it was. I have been working towards getting my RN completed ever since; while this goal has still not been accomplished, I am working towards it. Family is important to me, as I'm sure it is to you for your loved one. I am a single mother of 2 boys, recently divorced. I am a hard worker, and very passionate about what I do. I take my time where it matters, and recognize that there is always room for education and improvement.
