I have more than 13 years of experience working (full time) with individuals with developmental disabilities. In group, private residential, community, and classroom settings. Also in transportation. I am an RN looking to return to providing the care I hoped to do when I became an RN. Care, compassion, exceptional verbal and nonverbal communication, and above average critical thinking abilities are just some of the skills I possess. In a home care setting, I most enjoy the ability to provide the 1:1, quality care I would want for my own family and friends. In a facility or at home, I love utilizing my ability to discern a patient's needs, often off the beaten path. My greatest personal achievement was raising my two developmentally disabled children to become independent, upstanding citizens.
