I am a dedicated State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA/CNA) with over 15 years of experience as a caregiver and have provided care to individuals in different settings. I value integrity and compassion as key in pursuit of my career and strive to achieve this with the principle of treating people how you want to be treated. I started caregiving as part time while in college and it turned out to be a humbling and rewarding career for me. Humbling in way that it has made me to appreciate life, and rewarding for being a part of making someone's life better.

Approximately 15 years ago, I became my mother's Caregiver after she came home from Rehab for a major stroke. After working in a Family Medical office for a couple years, I began my Caregiver career. In the past 10+ years, I have worked as a Home Health Aide and CNA, providing many services to families and their loved ones, including (but not limited to) Alzheimers, Dementia, Quadriplegic, and Hospice Care. Services provided include companionship, transportation, meal prep, feeding, light housekeeping, pericare, input/output, taking and recording vitals, catheter care, colostomy care, medication reminders, assistance with bathing, showers, dressing, transfers, wound care maintenance, and oxygen maintenance. My special focus has been with Alzheimer's and Dementia care. I am a CNA and certified in CPR and First Aid, and continue to work on completing additional medical courses and pursue avenues to help strengthen me as a Professional Caregiver. I also maintain current Individual Professional Liability Insurance. Your loved ones peace of mind, comfort and health is my priority.

State Certified in May 2001 as a Certified Nurse Aide In a long term care setting. St. Elizabeth Hospice for 8 years providing Palliative, Respite and End of life care in the patients home and Inpatient settings. Followed by a committed record of reliability and strong ability to establish rapport with patients, family and staff. Currently working in a outpatient clinic as a Certified Hemodialysis Patient care Technician providing hemodialysis under the supervision of a RN.

I am both empathetic and sympathetic. I gained all my skills from the long years of my experience. I am extremely hardworking as they said but for me it's not about the hours or pay that matters but how my patient feels aside from the professional care I rendered. I am always happy to be of help. I began providing elder care when a close friend moved her mother to the area and needed help with her daily care, due to her diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Since I was a child, I enjoyed being around the grandmothers. Listening to their stories was a very comforting and enjoyable time for me. I love continued learning and sharing, and helping to make others feel loved and cared about is important to me! I feel so fortunate to have made a positive impact in several elders lives. I became a care giver because I love working and talking care of senior citizens and the handicap. I love to get to know my clients and enjoy making their lives a little easier. I had a young girl who was in a car accident and I helped her get her high school diploma and helped her walk again I am a 47yr old mother of 3 have 9 grand babies and I raise my nephew who had muscular dystrophy I moved to Ohio from Michigan to be near my middle daughter. I love to take care of people and enjoy being a care giver.

I got into caregiving on accident. I was looking for employment and a friends suggested I apply at her job which was Alzheimer's assistant living. I got the job and realized I loved it! I became state tested and have been in this line of business for 14 years. I love taking care of people who can't fully take care of themselves. There is pride in helping others and I am humble that God chose me to be the voice and care taker for some who can't express their needs and others who just need help along the way. I am proudest of accomplishing my PCA II which is a promotion from PCA acknowledging I am proficient in my level of expertise and care. I am also a safety coach and a proud member of the safe patient handling committee at my current employer that looks at proper ergonomics and equipment that keep both the patient and caregivers safe and free from injury. I do not have a car but I do use Lyft and Uber to travel if that's okay.
