I became a CNA in 1997 when my aunt was in a nursing home. I saw all the folks that needed love and care and thought I would give it a try. Well 2014 I am still a caregiver and can not imagine doing anything else. I have worked in Long Term Care, Home Health Agencies , Group Homes and private duty. My favorite being private duty with one on one care. I love helping people with their everyday needs and try to put some spice in their life by taking them out or offering fun activities in the home. I am willing to travel away from home, currently all my clients are in Centre County.

I have been a caretaker when I became a mother 27 years ago. Over the years I have worked with mostly specials needs adults and elderly. I have explored many avenues from day camps, private respite care, home visiting to nutrition education. Our family now supports a life share man who is autistic and non verbal and attends red tomato farm in Newville. I also work at red tomato Mondays and weds. I take my elderly father to gym on Tuesdays and Thursday in the am. Looking for work in the pm. This could be a good fit for me and this person who needs care. Most of my experience has been geriatric/nursing homes, however, I have home care experience hospice experience and experience with patiens who have trachs and vents in a subacute facility and home.
