I have worked in the Direct Care field for approximately 3 years now. I was a Direct Support Professional for 2 years and a Program Supervisor for a year. I enjoy this field because I have the opportunity to assist others in there day to day activities so I can see there smile on there face. Once that happens I know I've done my job and I've done it correctly.

My journey as a caregiver began with a personal experience, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by a family member in need of care. This experience ignited a deep desire within me to make a positive difference in the lives of others. With immense empathy and a genuine desire to help, I embarked on a path in the field of caregiving, specializing in home care. In my role as a caregiver, I am experienced in a range of areas, including personal assistance, medication management, health monitoring, meal preparation, running errands, and providing companionship. Being a caregiver in home care is much more than just helping with physical tasks; it is about fostering a strong bond with my clients and making them feel valued and respected. Communication plays a huge part in being a great caregiver. My father was once in a nursing home and ever since then I wanted to make people who can't really do for themselves happy and to see a smile on their face knowing someone in the world cars for them. I enjoy making people smile. My personal achievement is being able to help others.

What helps me be great for this job is im very patient person i try to make everyone smile, what attracted me to this job is this is something i ben wanting to do and is a step in my career as a RN, i enjoy everything cause i love the job, a personal achievement im proud of is finishing high school and then it will be finishing college

I chose this career because I like to help other people, and one way to do it is to work in the medical field. A fact that motivated me to do so is that when I was five years old, my grandmother was sick and I was able to observe how other people did not take care of her properly.
