I love to help others!!For 28 years it has brought me joy to know that I do something everyday that puts a smile on an individuals face. I'm giving back what was given to me, at sometime or another we all need someone to care for us so its my duty to give back. Raising my kids and finishing school so i could do what i love. I am a leader, and a team player, having thw chance to recruite great help also helped me understand what it was like working in the office and how hard it is at times to get good help for our lives loved ones so as long as I can I will help make it easier for everyone and I will not stand for abuse of any kind to anyone..

I was attracted to being a caregiver because I wanted to be able to help people be able to do things they are unable to do without help . I just wanted to help them have the normal life they would have if they were able to do so .

Hi , My name is Jasmine Williams I'm 26 years old. Coming back into the field after maternity leave. I have worked as a nursing assistant for 5+ years! I am very dedicated to the medical field and am also hoping it takes me a long way. I really enjoy working as a Nursing Assistant as it gives me a chance to give back to those in need of help as well as allowing me to have the hands on experience I need to become the best nurse possible , as I will be a new nursing student in the fall. I originally became interested in the health care field at a very early age because my aunt was a nurse and I spent considerable time in my childhood observing her at work. Which made me patient, dependable, confident, attentive, supportive, compassionate, trustworthy, creative & a great communicator. I was attracted to the idea of just helping people all at around. Although I had no thought about any specific specialty. However, in time Care giving became the logical focus of my attention for a number of reasons. For one, I have memories from a very young age of my grandfather getting too Sick to go outside needing assistance with his basic needs. My Grandmother as well. I will never forget being so young and not being able to help. Now that Im able to provide the assistance I strive to be the best Caregiver there is!

What drew me into this career path is my love to help others. I am always thinking about others' needs and wants and try to be helpful to anyone I meet. This is what makes me a great caregiver due to my passion to help others. Having that passion for helping others is what makes a difference in other people's lives which is very uplifting.

I knew I wanted to take care of people when my grandpa was sick when I was in 6th and 7th grade. Visiting him in the nursing home and hospital pushing him around and making him smile was the best feeling ever. I decided to go to Lawrence County Vo-tech for my 11th and 12th grade year to become a CNA and started working my senior year in November 2008. In 2012 I left that job to go to the facility my grandma resided in until she was well enough to go home which was about 2.5 years, and continued to work until I moved in 2016 I currently am working for St. Barnabas now as a hospice aide part time. I recieved an award for employee of the month in August from them. Overall, I enjoy helping care for people, and make them feel good about themselves. A smile of appreciation in return is so rewarding.

I am very dependable, trustworthy and have compassion and empathy when interacting and working with individuals as well as their families who need a little extra care. What attracted me to be a caregiver is helping others maintain as much independence as possible and providing care that will brighten spirits and help engage in daily activities. A person achievement I am proud of is being a loving mother. It has taught me patience and is my number one teacher in providing exceptional care.

I began my study in the science of nursing, applied myself academically, received scholarships and graduated with honors because I wanted a good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement. This is the statement many people use in the cover letter of a resume without understanding what it really means. During my tours of duty I had the pleasure of working with a diverse population of people who taught me everything I know today. I learned to listen, be prudent, patient, empathetic and humble, and build trusting relationships. I didn't learn this from professors in college, instructors during clinical rotations, nor preceptors who oriented me to a new health care position. I learned from our seniors who struggle with dementia, our children who struggle with genetic disease syndrome, and our family, friends and neighbors who struggle with mental illness. I have been blessed with the opportunity to work in the areas of geriatric, pediatric, and behavioral health nursing. The people in my care revealed to me without saying a word that the good job with the opportunity for growth and advancement that I was looking for was with me the whole time. I was the good job that needed to be done, and I have people like your loved ones to thank for that. Early in my career as a registered nurse I decided to focus on home care because it was depressing to be surrounded by sick people who had to wait for pain medication, and help with meals, bathing, grooming, and toileting, and I couldn't help all of them. Home care affords me the time to focus on my actual employer's business at hand. That is your loved one's needs and concerns.
