I began my fascination with healthcare as a child. I would polish my grandmother's white nursing shoes for her in the mornings as she was getting ready for work. She worked as a CNA at a nursing home in Lexington, VA. I remember looking at her and thinking I want to be just like her when I grow up. So as an adult I received my LPN and worked 18 years in Critical Care roles as well as skilled nursing home units in Roanoke and Martinsville to honor her memory. I've spent most of my life taking care of people because that is my passion and what I'm most proud of.

Hello, my name is Serenity. I'm 18 years old. I've very experienced with caregiving. I have elderly great grandparents that I tend to when they call. I also care give the most for my grand father. I changed him, bathed him, helped him try to walk until he went to bed rest, fed him and gave him company. He passed away april 6 this year and I would love to continue caregiving. I can do all of these things by helping your loved one in dressing up, toileting and conducting household tasks such as buying groceries and chores. Ensuring your loved one is exercising, eating balanced meals, and taking medication in a timely manner. Providing a listening ear to your loved one, and showing care and support.

I'm grateful to be a caregiver! especially thankful to those who trust me enough to care for their a love one. I have dedicated my time thirteen years now in this field. I wouldn't change it for the world. It brings joy helping others, I use to only want this career to only follow in my family's foot steps. I am geat person, with a amazing personality I have golden heart love hard, I can get along with almost anyone. I'm very outgoing hard working. Most people tell me no matter what may be going on I'm always wearing a smiling that is true. Life is to short to wear your heart on your sleeve. It's good to encourage uplift others. In 2004 my father n law call asked me would like to care and watch for his brother n law he wasn't doing to good in health wise, his wife was a school teacher, couldn't do it alone, they had a nurse also who would come and do there duties to. I'd watch as she did her job to get a few pointers and learn different skills. As I went to work every day I started to love my job more the bonding and listening to the clients you learn so much seeing the glow on there faces and smile gives you reassure that everything is good ok..when he passed I continue on making caregiving my career it's my passion I love it and wouldn't trade it for the world..

Empathy and compassion. ... By showing both empathy and compassion as a caregiver will let the person I'm caring for allow trust also shows I care about the person and will do what I can to help them. Attracting me to being a caregiver was know the help I could bring. Also knowing one day I will need the same help. I enjoying almost every aspect of a caregiver. More so putting smiles on those faces who feel they have been forgotten. That's my achievement in this field making those happy, and feeling valued.
