Hi I want to take a little bit about me I'm am 41 year old a mother with one daughter she is 20 I'm a certified CNA also CBRF train been working in this field for 14years Nursing Homes, Supported living, Assisted living, personal care I work went all type of people young and the Elder also with disability and behavior problems I got in this feel because I like helping people we all get older things happen to people we don't know why treat people the way you want to be treated with love kindness understand as a mother I understand how to be a parent allso as a sister and auntie love you have for your loved ones is so endearing also so important have a person would help take care of your loved ones who understand so if I'm saying I'm a good candidate yes have some years experience Ben in different situation. I am presently a Restorative Aide (CNA) at the Lutheran Home on North Ave in Milwaukee. Previously, I was a CNA at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, in the SCI/D wing (spinal cord injury/disorder). I left in search of a more balanced work environment. Additional duties (ones I don't have listed), can definitely be negotiated! I obtained my CNA the start of August 2021. I grew up with my own Grandmother telling me to stop hovering and go offer help to someone who needed it...she also frequently told me, until the day she passed, "Sarah, you would be good working with people, especially like me". I'm guessing she was referring to my patience, helpfulness, and understanding, especially working with "an old gal like her (Grandma's words, not mine). The elderly/frail population is the most I have worked with, but I'm by far not limiting myself to this population only! I have worked with clients with the following diseases/disorders/afflictions: Multiple Sclerosis Parkinson's Disease Various other neurodegenerative diseases COPD Injury to the spine at various levels Missing limb or parts of limb Different stages of Alzheimer's and general dementia Helping with recovery from a stroke at home RA Clients at various stages of cancer treatment And many more specific cases, too numeral to properly list here. I became a caregiver to help others, it's always given me pleasure knowing I was able to make someone else's life a little better. As your caregiver I will help with your daily activities, such as assisting with bathing and bathroom functions, meal preparations, feeding assistance, grooming, medication reminders, and house chores. I will help make and keep appointments with doctors, provide or arrange transportation and serve as a companion to you. I started off taking care of my GrandMother who had Dementia. Who I cared for until she was placed in a Nursing Home. And later died. I knew then that I needed to be in the care giving field.
