I am a good caregiver because I am a great listener, trustworthy, and helpful. I wanted to become a caregiver because recently my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer and before I moved to North Carolina a lot of my time I would spend taking care of her. I saw the joy I brought her by just sitting with her, listening to her stories from when she was younger, playing games, watching movies, and just being there for her. When I left I wanted to bring the same joy to others and find a way to give back to my community. I enjoy making my grandmother feel she was important again and I'm sure if I become a caregiver it will feel just as enriching to make others feel just as important too. I'm proud to say before I moved to North Carolina that I was invited out of 2800 students to be in a national honer society at the University of Texas at El Paso
