Hello! My name is Robin and I have been care-giving in Colorado for 5 years, And I have recently moved to Jacksonville NC! I have worked in multiple companies, and done private care as well! I knew care-giving was my passion when I was 18 and I met my first client, her name was Gloria and we quickly became close friends! Along my care-giving journey I have had many clients that became close to my heart and taught me so much about life, compassion, and how to be a better caregiver! I've worked closely with clients who have dementia, and I consider that to be a strong point for me, as I have seen the disease in all stages, I know what to look out for, and in general, how to comfort somebody who is very scared and confused. A few more strong points for me would include: compassion, cleanliness, time management skills, honesty, and a true love and passion when it comes to caring for people. Whats I enjoy most about being a caregiver is the rewarding feeling and sense of accomplishment I get, knowing I have brightened somebody's day, and improved their life!

Working as a personal care-giver for Comfort Keepers has expanded my skills in the field immensely by having me work with a client who has Dementia. This has expanded my understanding of the disease and has given me skills necessary to better understand and care for people with this ailment. My duties at Comfort Keepers are similar to my duties with Star Senior Care, however, working with a client with dementia has some of its own specific requirements. For example: reminding of little things like, what their nighttime routine is, booking appointments and outings with friends as well as occasional help with feeding when they can’t remember how to. When the company I was previously working for closed, the client I was working for had asked me to continue on with in home are, for her personally. I accepted and worked with her for a year until her health declined and she passed away. during that year we had a lot of great times, listening to music, coloring, having tea, and doing her nails and hair, all while I continued on with my duties, keeping the house clean and making sure she was getting good meals!
