A caregiver is one who takes care of a person, who cannot help one's self with ones daily living. I do consider this type of job as a profession. Therefore, to perform this job, I believe that it should be done with great pride and there should never be no hesitation or reservation to perform this package. You have to really love the depth and the real essence of the this job. This job comes with a feeling of joy and care and to know that at the end of the day you were able to provide such help to somebody who needs it. I became a caregiver because I love the job and what it entails. I love to deal with people especially the elderly. When an adult cannot help him/herself, one gets the feeling of appreciation when dealing with that individual. In some profession you do not get that feeling of appreciation. When I perform this job I feel that i am appreciated. I can hear, feel and know that my job was done right base upon the individual response. Moreover, the reaction of such person can be seen. The pleasant face and broad smile that lingers on your client. When I get these responses I feel like life is worth living because I am helping people who are in need. I am happy. Miss Johnson was a patient in a nursing home and I realized that she did not like to be dealt with by some nurses. While working with her in the evening she would tell me her story for the day and how she was treated. I listened carefully to her as she told me her ordeal for the day. Sh
