I began working for the City of Alexandria, Va. in October 1989 as a part-time Residential Counselor. I was promoted in June 2001 to full time status as a Residential Counselor for the DCHS City of Alexandria, Virginia. Currently, I overseeing the day operation as a staff in a residential treatment program, to ensure the facility to maintain a clean and safe environment. Assistance and monitor clients in their activity daily living skills. Clients range from ages 25-60 years of age. This is a transitional residential home. Responsible for the overseeing the day operation in the facility as a Lead Staff. Provides supportive counseling to seven adults with mental health/and some elderly residents in a residential program. Most residents at this residences is elderly. Resident ranges from ages 30 -70 or older. To ensure the facility to maintain a clean and safe environment. Assistance and monitor clients in their activity daily living skills; such as, participates groceries shopping, meal preparations, cooking, cleaning, monitor client medications as prescribed, resident’s hygiene skills, Treatment plan and other ADLS and IDLS in a residential setting. • Conduct inspection drill; such as fire drill, disaster drill, Emergency drills of the facility to ensure safety.• Provides quality care and services to the residents to ensure resident needs, requests, and concerns are meet appropriately or in a timely manner, provide orientations and assist new residents that is moving into the home.* Transport Residents to their appointments, community awareness, participates in community and recreational activities.

Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting patient to the bathroom. Also help patients with showers, baths or bedside bath. Take patients blood sugar, draw lab work, vital signs, assist RN in G-tube, IV, discharge and admission patients, document in patient chart. •Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water instructed by a RN. •Provides adjunct care by administering enemas, sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, g-tube, A-line, IV. Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight on a daily basis. Collect patients urine and recording intake and output information sheet for the RN.• Transport and transfer patients as needed to different units or assistance in discharge planning. answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor. Making patients bed or setting bedroom up when a patients discharge. Sometimes, assistance in other units in the hospital; such as Medical Surgical unit, ICU (intensive Care unit) CCU (Cardiac Care Unit), Psychiatric unit, Pediatric unity and telemetry. Also do blood work and take client blood work to lab. •Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

Supervised and assist 6 adults with mental and physical disabilites in a vocation setting. As a Life skill instructor, teach, supervised, assistance individuals in meals, feeding, dressing, attend meetings, supervised medications as prescribed by a doctor and other ADLS.
