I am the 41 year old mother of three boys. I was raised by my Great Grandmother and my Grandmother. They took excellent care of me and then I took excellent care of them. My Great Grandmother was a diabetic requiring two shots a day, she also had heart problems. My Great Grandmother eventually lost her leg to diabetes. She also developed dementia toward the end of her life. My Grandmother also had diabetes, she fell and broke both of her ankles, then she lost 80% of her vision and later developed dementia. I have always been drawn to elderly people. I feel like I have a special connection with them, I guess that comes from my upbringing.
