The Patient Access Representative is needed for patient registration, appointment scheduling and medical reception in a busy, ambulatory care setting. The selected candidate will work, in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to ensure the patient's needs and operational standards are met. This position will serve as a float Patient Access Representative and will work at the Brody Outpatient Center and ECU Women's Physicians. This position is involved in the following functions: Registration Scheduling Cashiering Outpatient Charge Entry Telephone Operations Managed Care Authorizations

Primary duties will be related to community COVID initiatives both within and external of the organization. Responsible for creating the first impression of the organization's services to patients and families and other external customers. Work in a COVID related role within the Vidant Health System, in varying settings that may include regional medical clinic settings, office environments, mobile testing sites, laboratory settings, and/or hospital settings. Support Vidant's mission to meet the needs of region wide communities in response to the COVID pandemic, related resources, testing initiatives, treatment options, and vaccination initiatives. * Field inbound calls in a professional manner * Respond to and resolve customer questions * Research possible solutions to customer issues * Field outbound calls to give Covid results * Field inbound calls to make vaccine appointments
