I am an experienced CNA with care specializing in various dementia types (most commonly Alzheimer's Disease). I have cared for these individuals nearly 10 years in various settings including an assisted living facility, day health care center, and in their homes. While I love the elderly and the special gift it is to care for each of them, I have a passion for those who have Alzheimer's disease ( or type of dementia) as they hold a special place in my heart. Although the disease is tough to watch a loved one go through, there's still that person who deserves the love, support, dignity and care as any one of us. I could go on and on about my passion. But I will leave it with this, I believe with my whole heart that I have a gift that God has given me, in being able to provide the best possible care to those who some may say have "difficult behaviors", while I just see someone who has a need and we just need to figure out what that underlying need is and love that person, finding what works for them.
