Hello, How are you? My name is Alyssa. I've been a caregiver for about 5 years now. A little about myself; Growing up my life wasn't very sweet, I had to learn a lot on my own and take care of my siblings and myself very much alone. I've always had a passion for helping people I just had no idea how. After graduating high school I went on to start college majoring in Child Development. After receiving a part time job as a caregiver I realized how much I enjoyed caring for my elders. It didn't feel like a job to me, being able to get to know my patients, knowing that with me they are safe and being well treated, made me happy. Their smile made me smile, I knew this is what I was put on earth to do. So after analyzing my career path I went ahead and finished my general studies, and now I am taking classes to become an LPN. Being a caregiver is very satisfying being able to be there for them makes me happy.

I started out in a privately owned Assisted Living in 2003, not needing my LNA. During my first year there, I fell in love with taking care of others. I went back to school and got my LNA license in 2004 (NH requires you to be licensed). I enjoy serving our seniors by helping them lead full and productive lives each day. Their needs are always put before mine, I like to focus on quality of life. My personal achievement would have to be moving to another state and challenging my skills to take the test and get my CNA here in NC in 2010. I also took the state test to become a medication tech in 2016. I feel that I can adapt easily to any environment and can work very well with others. It is said, that I have an out going personality and am courteous to everyone. I am 41 yrs old, met my husband when I was 19. We had a son, who is now 21, got married in 1999 and had our daughter, who is now 18. We are from NH. Moved to NC a little over 8 yrs ago and love it here.
