I have been a certified nursing assistant for over 10 years, and a caregiver for 8 years. I am a very compassionate caregiver, I believe that without compassion it is impossible to be an effective caregiver. Over the years as a caregiver, I have learned that having patients is as important as compassion. I am dependable, honest,and dedicated. I love what I do, and I am always willing to go the extra mile. I also believe that I am very knowledgeable in the area of Dementia, and Alzheimer's disease. I have worked with one of the Awarded Agencies, which is Aware Senior Care in Cary, NC. I also offer references upon request. What attracted me to being a caregiver was my grandmother, who was a nurse. I have always admired her hard work, compassion, and the love she had for people. I receive great satisfaction as being a caregiver when I know that I have helped someone improve their day to day life. I love to see a smile on my clients face. One of my personal achievements that I am proud of is being able to be a caregiver for my mother in my home. We as caregivers know that its not always easy taking care of your love ones. I believe it takes sacrifice, dedication, and strength to take of an elderly love one. Taking care of my mother has taught me how to be a better caregiver.

I have 6 years of patient care in a hospital facility as well as in a living facility. I am currently pursuing my studies in Nursing and hope to become a RN in the future. I am mom of 4 children so that should add many more years of being a caregiver. I enjoy putting a smile on my patients face, making them feel important and loved. I am very proud that I can take care of my dad who is suffering from induced dementia due to a severe hemorrhagic stroke that he suffered 28 months ago. He had a tracheotomy placed at the time which we helped during the time he had it and we are grateful he no longer needs it.
