
I started working in the field of developmental disabilities in 1988 as a habilitation provider, and realized it was my "calling." I have continued to work in the caregiving field for the past 26 years. I have a degree in disability intervention services, and currently enrolled in college to obtain my Masters in Psychology. It gives me great pleasure helping others and assisting them to reach their highest potential. I receive unconditional love and apprectiation from my clients, which is priceless. I have experience as a Case Manager, House Manager, Paraprofessional, Rehabilitation Specialist, and private health care. I have the knowledge and ability to run an office, however, I cannot live without the one-on-one contact I receive from direct care of clients. I am med-tech certified, as well as CPR and First-Aid. I am proud of myself for enrolling in college to complete my psychology degree and obtain my Masters. I plan on remaining in this field with some extension to mental health services, and I would like to provide counseling and intervention to troubled youth as well. I am a single mother of one child, who is now grown, married, an RN and studying at UNC to become a Nurse Practioner. I am very dedicated to my field of work and the clients with whom I serve.
