While working in elderly care I found a majority of the staff was there for the paycheck, I can't say that for myself. We love camping, the lake, watching movies, rollercoaster, playing golf, snowboarding and being with our family. I grew up in Florida and yes I still have my twang. I got into caregiving by happen stance. My dear friend, Chris, was in an accident. He suffers from a Traumatic Brain Injury. I love taking care for and helping people. It's good for my soul.

Ever since freshman year in high school, I have always wanted to do something that related to the medical field. First it was orthopedics and then pharmacy. I did not know that my mind would change to care giver until my junior year. I took a health science technology class starting my junior year. It was a two year class. Junior year was more focused on anatomy and physiology and Senior year we got to decide which path we wanted to go down. I chose the LNA path. I have always wanted to help people and going towards this path seemed like a sure-fire way to get there. I loved doing my clinicals at the two nursing homes near my school. It was an amazing experience. Knowing that I can help someone get through their day a little easier meant the world to me. Almost six years after graduating high school, I am still doing what I love and taking care of the people that need it the most.
