I started out caregiving while caring for my grandmother about 15 years ago. The time we spent together was a wonderful bonding experience and I wanted to continue with that feeling of accomplishment I get when helping someone and knowing I am making a positive difference in their lives.

Becoming a Caregiver was out of necessity, to fulfill one woman's simple request of not being placed into a nursing home. She had had a challenging childhood: daily nourishment often was tea and bread; coats were used as blankets during the evening. She persevered during her marriage, raising a brood of children while being the dutiful wife. So, when called upon, it was an opportunity to give back. I have found that I have great resolve, have not floundered in my integrity, and have given care with compassion and kindness. In doing so, I have been greatly rewarded.

I have been a physical therapist for 35 years in a variety of settings. I enjoy assisting people to reach their full potential and to motivate people to keep focused and never give up.

I believe I am a good caregiver because, when my aunt got diagnosed with a lot of things. I had to step up and help her out in every category! I love helping out people that are in need. I started by caring for my mom. she had a stroke and cancer. so i went to LNA school to care for her. I also had to move her from her home so i can care for her and my three kids. I like the smile on there face when they see me that alone make me feel like just showung up made there day.my personal gitf is taking care of my mom she have 12 kids out off nine me and one of my brothers took care of her for five years. that i am very proud of.I am a very heart felt person in my family.I help keep the family together by having alot of family get togethers.thats my job. in a family of 12

I became an LNA/caregiver, last year, because helping those who need a little or a lot, is very rewarding. I feel great to go to work and my residents are happy to see me and always ask for me. This assures me I'm doing my job and doing it well. I am a mother of three, nana to five. It was always my grandmother's wish for me to become a nurse. She always said I had a very living, caring personality, and my calling was to care for others. Due to raising my family, I put it off until last year. I wish now, I had begun sooner.
