The most important thing I came to understand in my years in this field, that most home health companies are quick to hire just about anyone regardless of passion for the job. My patients I had would get so angry because it was never the same person and it made them uncomfortable. So i decided to take the necessary steps to work for myself so that i can hire and train the best and ensure that i am always providing the type of care we would want for our own family. I love being a caregiver because I enjoy helping others I dont look at this as Just my job when I go home I feel like I actually did something productive for the day. I have been a caregiver off and on for 13 yrs and I love it!

I have been state tested since graduating high school. I am a mother of 4 and a wife of 13 yrs. I love working with patients and their family. I am very well at leaving my personal life at the door and being able to enjoy my day at work. Caring for people is all I know how to do. I just have to be able to be a parent as well with schools being done at home so can't do the long shifts of working in a nursing home. I take as many extra learning as can to help enhance my certification . I'm very easy to get along with and as flexible as needed. I have worked in home health, hospitals, as well as Nursing homes. My patients happiness means a lot to me or how the family thinks of me so always try to do my best. I have always liked helping people which is why I chose this field right out of high school. I have always kept my certification in good standing I've had my certification since 2001 and still on state registry with no complaints ever on my care. I have Been a personal care aide for the past four years and I love every aspect of my job. What made me gain interest in this field of work was when i first started to do child care for a family I knew back in my home town. I worked every summer for 3 summers straight for the family. Soon after i decided to become a certified childcare provider in the town of Hudson NY. Ive always loved caring for others so my interest grew outside of just childcare and i soon begin to take up companionship and Personal care and ever since then i stuck with it. I love every bit of my job even the days that are tough on both caregiver and client I always put their needs first. I make sure my clients receives the best care and more under my watch.
