I worked for seventeen years as a home health care med certified caregiver , I have also worked on a critical care unit. Illiostomes, colostomies, aids patients , blood pressures ,diabetics also caring for people with physical and mental disabilities to keep them in there home . I cared for my mother while she was in my home to ensure her care was properly given until lung cancer finally ended her life . I worked 17 years as a care giver for mentally ill and mentally challenged individuals. I was med certified and still have my cpr card.

Hello! I'm a 51 yr old female with 10+ years as a caregiver and Home Health Aide. Five of those years I was a personal caregiver to my parent with dementia/alzheimers. I started out as a state tested nurse aide in a nursing home with a memory care unit. My duties included bathing the residents, linen changing, feeding, denture care, personal hygiene, assistance with light exercise, etc. I then went on to become a home health aide and assisted Seniors in their own homes. This was my favorite part of caregiving and met many wonderful people. During my visits I would help them bathe, style their hair, trim nails, etc. I would also prepare healthy meals and provide companionship. I would perform light housekeeping and laundry services. I would provide transportation to doctors appointments and grocery shopping. My visits also included medication reminders, watering houseplants and feeding pets.
