What makes me a great caregiver is my motivation and dedication towards my passion. I'm very engaging, I'm always the leader of the group, I can build relationships with residents, family, and coworkers and understand them on a mental/emotional level. When I was younger my abuelo ( grandpa ) was in the ICU and I always seen the RN's do their job and was so interested... the rest is history! A personal achievement I'm proud of is finishing my CNA course I'm one step away from getting my CNA license!

I decided to follow a career in the health field when I helped take care of my grandmother when she was in a nursing home for rehabilitation after a car accident. My older sister was always my idol. She became a nurse and I always admired her with her job and all that she does for other people who are in need. I decided to pursue in the same field. I enjoy helping others. I am a very giving and compassionate person. I take my job seriously, and don't expect anything in return. My reward is seeing smiling faces of those I help and knowing that they are completely appreciative of everything I do because I am not obligated to do so. I am proud of starting school to continue my education. I had financial issues and had to take a break, but I am determined to finish and get my RN. A little something about myself, I live on my own with my boyfriend and his 3 year old son. I also have a dog. I enjoy spending time with my family and my boyfriend's family. I am looking to add on to my small family, but the jobs I have had have not allowed me to be financially stable just yet. I am looking to get paid decently for all the work that I do as a CNA. I was a registered nurse for twelve years and decided I wanted to get out of the hospital scene. However my passion continues to remain in caring for others that need help. I have cared for my mom, who is now deceased, for many years. I feel that helping a man, woman, or child in their home environment is extremely important. It gives them a sense of independence and wellbeing. I cared for a woman after I left nursing who had multiple sclerosis and cancer for two years and unfortunately she had to go into a nursing facility. As far as my personal achievements...in the past I was telemetry, ACLS, CPR certified. I would be willing to renew any of those if needed. I have always seemed to develop a great rapport with my patients and always worked well with my staff. As far as a personal achievement goes, I had a patient that had three strokes in succession. She would always call out my name. Finally she was discharged and years later I was at a new hospital doing orientation and she found me. She came from New York to see if she could find the people that cared for her. That was an amazing experience. Personal life--I have my husband and a stepson and a crazy cat. Just looking into getting back into helping others but in a different scene. Thank you for your consideration.
