Working with troubled teen girls has been a life changing opportunity. I am able to teach and coach many young girls about everyday life and how to manage their emotions. There and many different types of responsibilities that come with this job. The safety of the clients are our top priority, and I am trained in CPI and CPS to be able to do this safely and efficiently. I am able to grow a connection with each client to help better their skills. I coach and teach the girls about, but not limited to, different coping skills, respectful communication skills, respectful boundaries, body language and how to read others. As a staff member I am also able to teach clients about everyday life skills such as cooking meals, how to properly clean, house rules and expectations, proper hygiene, how to budget, and much more. I also have duties and responsibilities as a staff member that include following HIPAA law, completing proper paperwork for each specific incident, room searches for the safety of the clients, cooking meals for the girls, completing daily paperwork, keeping updated with my trainings, communication with all other staff, and learning about each clients triggers and how to diffuse them specifically according to their own needs.

Working at Pioneer Village was personally an eye opening experience. I had many different responsibilities which included most of all caring for many residents with different levels of care (assisted living and independent living) as well as complying and following the HIPAA law. While caring for the assisted living residents as a caregiver I had the following responsibilities of, but not limited to, assisting the residents with showering, changing clothing and undergarments, cleaning and emptying catheter bags and attachments, and helping many of them into and out of bed. I assisted with escorting them to and from meals, transferring, keeping residents rooms tidy, organized, and clean, and following directions from the Medication Aide, especially during emergency situations. As the Medication Aide my responsibilities were all that apply for a caregiver as well as the preparation and passing medications and treatments, paying close detail to the medication Mars, editing the EMAR with new and changed medications, calling different pharmacies and doctors offices that apply to that specific resident, being the manager on duty, and various paperwork after each shift. I was also in charge in emergency situations such as drills, fires, and all resident related emergencies. I was responsible for making different kinds of appointments and handling all medical paperwork for all assisted living residents.

While working at Brookdale Medford I was honored with many different tasks and responsibilities for the elderly that were unable to care completely for themselves. Some of the tasks I was assigned were cleaning and setting the Dining Room for next days breakfast, completing all laundry on my assigned floors, vacuuming, cleaning, and disinfect the hallways and wall common areas, and cleaning up residents apartments. I also was privileged to care for the residents with tasks such as, assistance with using the rest room, showering, dressing, changing undergarments, bandages, changing and emptying catheters and colonoscopy bags and attachments, escorting to meals, and much more.
