My experience as a caregiver started early in my life when my older brother became mentally disabled. His mental and physical health deteriorated very quickly, which required constant supervision of his behavior, whereabouts, medicine intake and basic day-to-day needs. Later, due to severe trauma and illness, my mother became bed-ridden and remained so for 26 months until her passing away. I, once again, was her primary caregiver. Having experienced first-hand the daily responsibilities of caring for these two people, I know how important it is to have patience, understanding and compassion when dealing with patients. Now caregiver is my main job, I got more skills working over 4 years as a Home Health Aid . Compassionate, attentive to detail, caring, proactive and passionate about my job. I believe that besides the physical aspect, caring for those in needs is foremost about being kind and compassionate.
