Reliable, friendly, willing to help, understanding, Organize, and patient. What attracted me to being a caregiver is that I always had a passion to help and taking care of people. And my mother played a big part of that too. What I'm proud of is the fact that at the end of the day I help a person achieve or finishing a task. That is all.

I am a mother to a autistic nonverbal child. I been working direct support professional for 7 years now. I'm a very bubbly person and easy to get along with. I wanted to be a caregiver because it's something I like and there's people out there who doesn't have family to talk to just that one caregiver's to really talk to. When my son got diagnosed with autism o make it a promise to myself and my son to be a better helper and more understanding . My son taught me so much over the past years. My son taught me your disability doesn't make you less important or human. My son taught me to love and care for others. There is others like my son who's not been love and care for. There's other like my son who doesn't have family to listen to so if I can be that person they can be themselves and understand them that's all I really want. My personal achievement I'm proud of I will say my son. Getting used to the fact my son is nonverbal and autistic and the world will be judging him and me teaching him to love the person you are. I have achieved so much along the years. I was the mother who was ashamed of my child for been autistic and different to the mother who's standing up for my son. To sum everything up I'm very big into helping others and make them feel love. I believe just one smile, one hello can change a lot.
