I have worked with a variety of age groups, from pediatrics to geriatrics. I genuinely lean towards geriatrics, for the elderly are my favorite group to work with. I have a good ear for listening and they always have a good story to tell. I'm gentle, yet firm about their care. Safety of their well being comes first. I became a caregiver when an older friend of mine became ill and I would visit her everyday at the hospital until her passing. At that time I realized, that nursing was my calling. I attended Medical Assistant school, upon completion I landed my first job as a medical assistant in primary care practice which mostly cater to the elderly. The doctor and I would make house calls to those who couldn't get out to the office. Later I return to school and became an LPN in my 40's. I am now seeing a part time position where I can help families take care of their loved ones, those who may need just a extra help with their daily lives.
