Hello my name is Edwin Alvarez. I'm a 21 year old with a driven goal to be a nurse assistant. As you can tell I have no experience working as a caregiver professionally but I want to tell you about me and why I believe I can do this career. When I was growing up my mother was an alcoholic, she used to drink all the time everyday. It hit me hard to see her like that, which made me grow up faster then most kids at that age. I took care of my mother who had this terrible disease for 13 years and she was very messy and used to black out. I was a kid who didn't look after his life first because the woman who was suppose to be there for me couldn't take care of herself. I cleaned her, changed her, bathed her, cooked and gave her medicine for her hangover. This trauma became my life which made me wanna be there for people who can't take care of themselves or need help through out their day. It's because of what I went through with my mom that I found my purpose in life.
