I enjoy the work of providing service to others. I believe that we are all called to serve our fellow man. I believe that listening to others and being empathetic is very important in making people feel understood and valued, regardless of their age. I believe that I have a gift for (and enjoy) connecting with people who are older than myself. I think that they have wonderful stories, memories, life experiences and life lessons that are worth hearing about and discussing. I had the privilege of caring for my in-laws for more than 10 years, in their home, as they aged gracefully, between the ages of 73 and 86. I enjoyed the companionship we shared, as well as taking care of many everyday household needs - cleaning, laundry, bathing, medication management, cooking, small repair projects, running errands and assisting with transportation and accompaniment to doctor appointments. I believe that my experience in sales and customer service, coupled with my ability to connect with and relate to people, makes me a good fit for acting as a senior caregiver.
