Being a caregiver is not just doing your job, but being excited and enjoying what you do for the patient, and putting the family at ease with the care that you provide. I am a very patient, enthusiastic, and compassionate person. Making patients smile, and assisting them with day to day life, is one reason I enjoy being a caregiver. I had a patient that had falling, so he was depressed and afraid to walk without assistance (walker). I worked with him for a month, talking to him everyday, walking with him and building his confidence again. I gained his trust. Within a month in a half he was more confident in himself, he walks with little to no assistance. He also goes out to lunch dates with his family. When I take care of a patient, I look at them as being my family member. Therfore, I put my best effort in taking care of that person, and it shows through the care I provide.
