About Christine

I have worked as a caregiver for over twenty years. I first started out working with the elderly with Alzheimer's disease at New Perspective in Brown Deer and later on in their Mequon facility. I have always felt comfortable around the elderly and enjoy their company. I like being able to help them in whatever way they need so they can have a nice day. I have done bathing, cooking, activities, and med administrating as well as general cleaning. I also worked for four years as a social services worker with the elderly population at Plymouth Manor nursing home, which I enjoyed.

I get asked all the time "why would you want to be a CNA, why would you want to work in such a stressful field ?" My answer to them is "Because I love my job," but the true answer goes way deeper than that. I love my job because of all of the little things; The smiles that you get when you walk into a room, hearing a typically nonverbal person answering you, someone calming down just by the sound of your voice and most importantly all of the thank you's said by families. Being a CNA is investing all of your time into someone you once never knew but now not being able to imagine your life without them. My advice to all future CNAs would be, wear your bruises with pride knowing that you gave it your all.
