I have worked in the past with both teens and adults with developmental disabilities as a Residential Rehabilitation Technician. I enjoyed caring for the residents in the group homes but it wasn't until I had the opportunity to work with geriatric patients as a Home Health Aide that I realized what I wanted to do in life. Over the past 10 years, I have worked for a non-profit agency helping the homeless and terminally ill. I recently cared for an elderly gentleman with both Pulmonary Fibrosis and Alzheimer's. I was able to help him spend his last days in his home because he really did not want to move into a nursing home. Just knowing that I was able to do this for someone made my job even more fulfilling. I returned college part-time to become a Registered Nurse. I have come to the realization that the more training and knowledge I obtain, then the more people I can help. I truly love the path that I have chosen in life.
