What makes me a great caregiver is that I genuinely care about those that I take care of. I enjoy seeing how happy residents are when they are being cared for. The trust and respect that is gained overtime is important to the care of residents. I became a caregiver because my grandmother and my mother both were caretakers and when I would go to work with them (my high school required volunteer credits in order to graduate) I see how much caregivers were needed because unfortunately there are elderly and disabled residents that do not have people to care for them due to the amount of care that is needed. I also saw how rewarding working as a caregiver can be. I think that being a caregiver is such a humbling experience, so often people forget how one day we will be in such need of care. My most personal achievement is working and going to school for careers that allow me to take care of those who need it. Knowing that I am contributing to the world and society in a way that is positive and loving. I am aware that is much needed today.
